Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Davidson Group. 

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Spring. We have needed the rain here in California, but the atmospheric rivers of 2023 have me feeling a little soggy. Between the storms this week, I find I am dreaming of Four-Leaf clovers, Rainbows, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and Irish Soda Bread.

Last year, when I sat down to write our blog, I discovered that we wear Green to make ourselves invisible from leprechauns. This year, I discovered a statistic that stated the odds of finding a Four-Leaf clover are about 1 in every 10,000.  

Rainbows have a way of making me smile whenever I see one. I can’t help but stop to see if I can guess where the beginning or end of that rainbow might be, and what might be found at the bottom. Two songs also come to mind when I see them. The first, “Always Chasing Rainbows” (Judy Garland) and the second, “Rainbow Connection” (Kermit the Frog).

Corned Beef & Cabbage and Irish Soda Bread was one of those meals as a kid that I looked forward to, and was always bummed out that it was only a once a year type of meal.  There was something about the smell of the Corned Beef that had been cooking all day in the crock pot wafting through the house, and the smell of the Irish Soda bread baking that left me in eager anticipation for dinner! I couldn’t wait for the bread to come out of the oven and my mother to leave the kitchen, so I could “sneak” a piece of the crusty outside… before anyone else could have a taste.

It may feel like I am meandering a bit here, but all of these things kind of flow together if you think about it. Four-leaf clovers feel elusive, kind of like looking for your perfect home. Once you’ve found your perfect home, it feels a lot like you’ve found the treasure at the bottom of the rainbow, and you create memories there in all different colors and scents, through decorating, experiences and meals (like Corned Beef & Cabbage and Irish Soda Bread) you’ve had in your home, and finally, the thing that ties it all together is a soundtrack in your mind that never fades.
